An Internet Security Systems company engaged researched to find out how the spasm and malware containing emails are distributed, and their findings have brought shocking information.  In Detroit for example, they have found that the automobile industry along with the employees of these companies have been targeted with innumerable malware laden spam emails, than other industrial sectors.

Industry And Internet Security Threats.

The automobile industry in a period of three months found to have received as many as 503 million emails messages spread over to 867 companies, in 22 different countries, and the spam also landed in 11 industries, other than automobiles.   For reasons unknown, the automobile industry was receiving the peak rate of spasm, with the ratio being at the peak of 99.89. In other words a mere 0.11 were legitimate emails and not Viagra or porn web portals.

Spam Is All Pervasive In Internet Security World.

The researchers have vouched that the survey indicates the all pervasive nature of spasm and malware distribution which is reaching out to various industrial sectors as well. It is difficult to come to any conclusion why only a few sectors are receiving more scam compared to others.  Next to automobile industries, there were dealers, suppliers of parts, manufacturers of automobile parts, and other services connected with automotive industry, after which the electronics and government sectors ranked.

Consumer Electronics Are Also Target Of Spam

Hackers,  phishers, and   Spammers, are also aiming at consumer electronics, to get at users who are not suspecting that their person information and internet security is at jeopardy, simply their computers only to get more spam.

Spammers Ignore Tourism And Education Sectors.

Internet security seems to be working well with tourism and education sectors, even as they are not the target of spammers, ranking in the least spam ratios. Banking industry followed them.  This is simply suggestive of the fact that the spam do not target everyone who is using emails, and they are not installing malware clandestinely in every computer. Their preferences are un-understandable.

Why Some Are Left Out In Internet Security?

To understand whether malware laden emails and spam affect all industries in a similar manner, or whet her some factors are at work to influence some industrial sectors to be t targeted, it seems just a gamble.  The research findings threw surprises inasmuch as the difference of 12% in the ratio junk mail was established between various business fields.
